Let's rewind, back when I had picked up photography amateurly right before it became a professional pursuit.
My buddy Jacob and I met, sometime in 2015, we met on our way to a Foo Fighters concert.
The whole ride back we really shared our love for music together, not realizing it would later manifest into projects left right and center.

Eventually, Jacob started dragging me out to gigs, the early ones I don’t think I was even old enough to be in these venues
I noticed at these gigs, people were photographing live music and a community existed.
I started to consider perhaps I could get into this.
I started to consider perhaps I could get into this.
Turns out that was his plan - ask his photographer to photograph
Not long after Jacob started Droning Silence with our buddy Matt, whom I had met in a similar way, I believe the beginning of our 10 year + friendship started with a compliment on my David Bowie t-shirt.
This would be my first time photographing live music and working as an independent contractor.
Here are some shows we put on organised from the comfort of Jacobs cold damp karori flat.
